BUROA- At least 10 people were killed by diarrhoea in Buroa, east of Somaliland. The death toll may increase as the number of people hospitalized are dramatically rising.
The Minister of Health, Suleiman Esse, said over two thousand people are stricken by watery diarrhoea in Buroa.
The mayor of the city said the situation is beyond the city's capacity. "Buroa is in emergency health situation," he added.
The disease caused deaths. The exact number is not yet known and the authorities are not giving much information.
At least 10 people died in last days, confirms the Red Crescent and the Ministry of Health. Three of them were prisoners who died in Buroa prison.
This year, Somaliland was hit by a severe drought that caused deaths of livestock and weakened the people. Rain fall started and floods washed away dead animals to drinking wells and reservoirs.
