The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia suspended imports of Somali livestock amid severe drought. The Ministry of Water, Environment and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia circulated the decision.
Livestock is the main export of Somaliland, according to the World Bank report.
Somaliland Minister of Livestock talking to the media says the health of the livestock exported from Berbera port has been approved and certified by the International Organization of Animal Health.
The ban, if it continues, will harm the economy of Somaliland, Somalia and the Somali region of Ethiopia.
