    Families say two missing Somalilanders were kidnapped in Puntland

    Hargeisa- The families of two men who are missing in Puntland said they were taken forcefully in Garowe, the capital of Puntland.

Hargeisa- The families of two men who are missing in Puntland said they were taken forcefully in Garowe, the capital of Puntland.


Hamse Mohamed Ahmed and Abdiqadir Ahmed Guleid went missing on 1st April 2018. Two days later they called their families and told them that they are held against their will, according to family members who spoke to Somaliland Daily.

The family members said the abductors demanded the government of Somaliland to release a man arrested in Burao. The man is held and accused of a rape of 13 years old child who died of wounds, according to government officials.

The families were told that they will not be released until the man arrested by Somaliland is set free.

Puntland is an autonomous region of Somalia.

Neither the authorities of Somaliland nor those of Puntland talked about the incident.
