Hargeisa In a statement, the spokesperson of the President said the ordinary weekly cabinet meeting has discussed "the situation of the eastern border of the Republic of Somaliland."

The cabinet discussed "that Somaliland is interested in peace and good neighbourhood,” says a statement issued by Mohamoud Warsame Jama, the spokesperson of the President of Somaliland.

"Also, the meeting clarified that Somaliland is committed to ascertaining its borders and defending its land,” the statement read.

He added that Somaliland "is not offensive against the borders of another country. At the same time, Somaliland informs the international community and neighbouring countries of the importance of peace and stability.”
