Somaliland commemorates the National Army Day

Hargeisa- The president of Somaliland Ahmed Silanyo congratulated the members of the National Army for the commemoration of 23rd anniversary which is honoured in 2nd February every year.
2nd February is recognized as the National Army Day to mark in 1994 when the military of Somaliland was re-established after Somaliland declared restoration of independence in 1991.
The president of Somaliland attended a ceremony held in the capital, Hargeisa. Many leaders including the three chairmen of the political parties also participated the ceremony.
"In the past six years I have been in power, we increased the number of the army and improved its quality,” the President said.
"We increased the salary of the members of the National Army,” he added.
The president thanked the Army and urged to continue serving for their people.
The president elevated the ranks of four thousand, three hundred and ninety three members of the Army.
