Hargeisa- A delegation led by Peter De Clercq, the Deputy Special Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia visited this week in Somaliland.

The delegation met the vice-president of Somaliland and other government officials as well as the civil society organizations.

In a tweet, UNSOM said "As part of the @UN's response to #CycloneSagar, @UNdeClercq is in #Somaliland to assess the #humanitarian impact and what's needed to help affected communities – here’s what he had to say about his visit. @UNOCHA, @OCHASom, @WHOSom, @JustinTBrady

The delegation came to assess the humanitarian situation following Cyclone Sagar.

In last week a cyclone hit Somaliland and claimed the lives of more than 50 people, according to the government of Somaliland.
