    Appeal court in Hargeisa upholds conviction of journalist

    Hargeisa- The chairman of Hargeisa Appeal Court today announced that he upheld the conviction of journalist Mohamed Aden Dirir.

Hargeisa- The chairman of Hargeisa Appeal Court today announced that he upheld the conviction of journalist Mohamed Aden Dirir.


The court said Dirir was found guilty of defamation and circulation of false news. Dirir was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

He is accused of articles that were written about a privately owned school called Noradin. The alleged articles accused the school of misconduct.
