Hargeisa- Ali Hassan, the secretary of the Local Government of Hargeisa, accuses the mayor of mismanagement of finances.

Speaking in a press conference held today, Ali said the mayor is not ready the work of the municipality to improve.

He stated that the salary of the staff of the municipality are not paid while the income of the city is increasing.

Asked by the reporters where the money goes, he argued that it is not managed well.

He said the mayor runs the municipality as a private company of his ownership.

The mayor has not made comments to these accusations.

The secretary is appointed by the ministry of interior and the mayor is elected by the local government councillors.
