Hargeisa- In a press statement issued by Somaliland's representative to UAE, the son-in-law of the former president Silanyo said Somaliland Investment Company has been registered with the UAE.

According to the document, Bashe, the representative, and the Foreign Minister of Somaliland, Dr Saad Ali Shire, are directors of the company.

No further information was given.

"This is a completely unknown thing. Why are politicians made the directors of a company owned by the government? Why is the company not registered in Somaliland? What is the legality of the company? These and more other questions remain unanswered,” said an expert who spoke in anonymity.
