Hargeisa- According to the police commissioner in Lasanood district of Sool region, 50 people were arrested on Monday morning in Lasanood.

The commissioner said the people were stone throwing and making a disturbance.

They were given a wrong information and misguided by culprits, he added.

On Monday morning a group of residents in Lasaanood took the streets in the city to protest against the government of Somaliland, sources confirmed.

Some of the people were waving Somalia and Puntland flags.

In this month Somaliland and Puntland forces clashed, claiming the lives of dozens of people and causing more injuries.

The authorities in Somaliland and Puntland have not disclosed the number of soldiers killed in the fighting.

Sources told Somaliland Daily that these renewed wars which happened on 15th and 24th May were one of the deadliest battles ever engaged by Somaliland and Puntland.

There are also prisoners captured by both sides.

Human Rights Centre, a human rights organization based in Somaliland, called on parties to respect and apply Geneva Conventions.

Each party accuses the other of initiating the fighting and invading its territory.
