Hargeisa- The President of Somaliland released opposition politicians and two journalists detained on 9 June protests after a mediating committee implored their release ahead of talks.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns the surreal, trumped-up charges that a court in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, brought on 9 May against three journalists who have been held since 13 April in connection with their coverage of a prison riot.
Hargeisa: The opposition parties of the Republic of Somaliland have accused the President of Somaliland, Muse Behi Abdi, of vying to remain in power indefinitely, an allegation rebuked by the ruling party leadership.
